French weapons ineffective in Armenia - media

The military equipment delivered by France to Armenia is ineffective, according to Armenian media reports.

"A few days ago, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan said that the army has contracts for the purchase of weapons not only from India and France, and in the near future there will be deliveries from other countries as well. There is a point of view that Papikyan is trying to impress the Armenian society with such statements that the army is being armed with modern weapons and ammunition, and there is a transition from Russian weapons to the weapons of other countries," AzVision.az quotes an Armenian media report as saying.

"However, as various experts note, so far, apart from weapons supplied by Russia, weapons and ammunition obtained from other countries, to put it mildly, cannot work effectively in the Armenian army, as the radar devices purchased do not meet the requirements of the standards of the current system, and the French side does not sell Armenia missiles designed to hit targets detected by these devices.

As for the vehicles bought from France, their low quality has been mentioned more than once, which is also evidenced by the Ukrainian side's refusal to use this equipment. On the other hand, according to military experts, the caliber of Indian weapons differs from ours, and today our army does not have the experience and skills to use them in real life," the report adds.
